Happy Birthday to Me, Launching My LLC
It’s June 20th and in 6 days I’ll be turning 37 believe it or not. Perfect time to launch my own little business growing microgreens. For the past couple of months, I have been working on starting my LLC, named MikeGrowsGreens. It’s amazing how everything came together. It’s actually been a couple of years in the making. If I look back, I can say if I didn’t lose my job at Cornucopia in 2018 then I wouldn’t have gotten into farming and microgreens. I farmed on Long Island for 2 years before I moved to North Carolina where I lived on an urban farm producing microgreens. That is where I got most of my experience growing microgreens, leading me to this point. The name of the business just seemed logical. Not sure what else I would call it. Having a lot of talented friends helps as well. I have someone designing my logo for me which should be officially done in the next month or so.
So, I have been providing microgreens for The Optimist, my coffee shop job, and for Tami, the woman who I learned from. They are my first two clients for my business. I lucked out having some connections initially. Probably after about a month or two of feeling out the process for these two clients, I’ll start to reach out to other places. One restaurant on my radar is The Dirty V in Apex, NC. Not sure if they will want to use microgreens or not but there’s only one way to find out. I need to finalize my business cards as well as make a fresh sheet for restaurants. The business cards will be ordered as soon as I get my logo finished. That will make it easier to approach customers and spread the word about MikeGrowsGreens.
Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for more updates on my microgreen journey!
